DRDO RCI Apprentice Recruitment 2027: Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, Hyderabad, has released Advertisement Notification No. RCI/HRD/Apprenticeship/Advt/2027 for the engagement of apprentices for the year 2027.

RCI has invited online applications from eligible Indian citizens for one-year apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act. The recruitment includes Graduate Apprentice, Technician Apprentice (Diploma), and Trade Apprentice (ITI) positions.

Graduate Apprentice

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions before applying.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the relevant qualification for the apprenticeship category:

  • Graduate Apprentice: B.E./B.Tech in the specified engineering disciplines.
  • Technician Apprentice: Diploma in the specified engineering disciplines.
  • Trade Apprentice: ITI qualification in the specified trades with NCVT/SCVT affiliation.

The qualification must be from an Indian institution recognized by the appropriate statutory authority.

Age Limit

The candidate should be at least 18 years of age as on 1 September 2026.

Percentage / CGPA

Only regular candidates who obtained:

  • 70% marks, or
  • 7.5 CGPA or above

in the qualifying examination are eligible.

The qualifying examination must have been completed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 for Graduate, Diploma and ITI candidates.

Other Important Eligibility Conditions

Candidates should note:

  • Candidates with a higher qualification are not eligible.
  • Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training are not eligible.
  • Candidates currently undergoing apprenticeship training under any organization are not eligible.
  • Candidates having more than one year of work experience are not eligible.

Stipend

The notification states that the stipend will be provided as per Government norms, with reference to the Gazette dated 3 September 2025.

For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, an Aadhaar-seeded bank account is mandatory for receiving 50% of the stipend from the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.
